That Old Injury Still Hurts? The Problem May Be a Loose Ligament

You sprained your ankle years ago. Hurt your knee skiing. Tweaked your shoulder. The injury supposedly “healed”—so why does it still hurt?

Sometimes the problem isn't where it hurts. It may be that the ligaments supporting the joint never fully regained their strength and stability.

Ligaments help hold our joints together. When they're stretched or injured, the joint can become slightly unstable. That extra movement can create ongoing irritation, recurring pain, clicking, weakness, or the feeling that something simply isn't right.

And this is where regenerative injection therapies can be particularly interesting.

At Anderson Natural Medicine, we use treatments such as prolotherapy, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and medical ozone injections to address injured joints, tendons, and ligaments. The appropriate treatment depends on the injury, how long it's been there, and what we find during your evaluation.

These therapies aren't simply about temporarily covering up pain. The goal is to address the structures that may be contributing to the problem and support the body's own repair processes.

Still blaming that old injury?

If your knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, hip, or another joint keeps reminding you of an injury from years ago, it may be worth finding out why.
