Naltrexone Pain Therapy

Naltrexone Pain Therapy

Naltrexone, available at Bothell’s Anderson Natural Medicine, is a medication that increases the body’s production of endorphins for pain relief, decreases inflammatory cytokines, and increases antiinflammatory cytokines, as well as regulates healing processes. Historically, the medication has been used in doses of 50 to 100mg for opioid addiction, but it is becoming more commonly used in low doses for natural pain relief and immune system modulation. The use and benefits of low-dose naltrexone (LDN) has only been taught in most medical schools since 2018.

Low-dose naltrexone has been demonstrated to reduce symptom severity in conditions such as fibromyalgia, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, complex regional pain syndrome, and more. Many autoimmune conditions result in long-term chronic pain as well as tissue or joint degeneration. If you have not been able to get relief from standard therapies and are looking for a provider experienced with the use of LDN, Dr. Anderson may be able to help.
