Why Your Pain Isn't Going Away (And What Most Doctors Miss)

The Hidden Reason Your Pain Keeps Coming Back

If you’ve been dealing with chronic pain—neck, shoulders, back, or even abdominal discomfort—you’ve probably been told some version of:

  • “Your imaging looks normal.”
  • “It’s just inflammation.”
  • “Try rest and medication.”

And yet… the pain is still there.

That’s because many cases of chronic pain aren’t coming from where you think.

The Missing Piece: Muscle Dysfunction & Trigger Points

In my clinic, one of the most overlooked causes of persistent pain is myofascial trigger points—tight, dysfunctional bands within muscle tissue that:

  • Refer pain to other areas
  • Restrict movement
  • Irritate surrounding nerves
  • Mimic other conditions

For example:

  • Neck trigger points can cause headaches
  • Mid-back dysfunction can feel like abdominal pain
  • Shoulder tension can radiate into the arms

This is why imaging often comes back “normal”—because it doesn’t show functional muscle issues well.

Why Traditional Treatments Fall Short

Most standard approaches focus on:

  • Anti-inflammatories
  • Muscle relaxers
  • General physical therapy

While helpful, they often don’t directly release the source of the dysfunction.

A More Targeted Approach: Trigger Point Injections

One of the most effective treatments I use is trigger point injection therapy.

This technique:

  • Releases tight muscle fibers
  • Improves blood flow
  • Resets neuromuscular patterns
  • Provides rapid relief in many cases

Patients are often surprised by how quickly their symptoms improve—especially when pain has lingered for months or years.

When Pain Is More Than Just Pain

Chronic pain is rarely isolated. It often connects with:

  • Stress and nervous system overload
  • Poor posture or repetitive strain
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Underlying inflammation

That’s why a comprehensive, individualized approach matters.

You Don’t Have to “Live With It”

If you’ve been told everything is “fine” but you don’t feel fine, it’s worth taking a deeper look.

Your body is giving you signals. Let’s interpret them correctly.
